The Ultimate 50's Sunglasses

These glasses are a cute and fun gift for fifters! They have little diamonds on the sides of these eye pairs and tiny writing on the side of one of the glasses. These come in small and big sizes in case you have a big head just like me. This pair comes in many beautiful colors and stands out to people so well. They do have an oval shape that fits perfectly on the eyes. My friend has the same glasses, but she has them in an orange color. She bought a bulk of them and wears them everywhere including on dates.

Blue and White Magazine For Those Who Love The Golden Age

This is a cool and insightful book gift for fifters! This book has blue, green, and yellow colors. There is a woman who is wearing what looks to be like a scarf and pink red lipstick. She is wearing a plaid dress and holding onto stems from a tree. Behind her you have the view of the beach. My little cousin has this same book from the store, and it gave her a lot of insight on pop culture through history. She may not love it, but it was a great gift for her.

Black Colored 50’s Accessories for fifters

This a unique box of items that were worn in the 1950’s! I notice there is a pair of glasses and sunglasses. Along with three pairs of polka dot earrings and a silk scarf as well. At the left corner there is a black and white printed headband and a pair of gloves too. There is a total of eight items in this accessory box. My grandmother used to have many of these style of gloves in her closet. When she would show them to me as a child, she would smile so bright and tell me stories of how she got them.

Blue and Red Word Search Book

This is an awesome booklet for those who love the 50’s! It has many pages to keep your brain busy by searching for words with just your eyes. I noticed that is has yellow wording and an arrow indicating to open the book. The front page has labeled the 1950’s on it and the author has made sure to put their name on it. At the top right corner of the red/yellow square you see a star shape. My sister loves to do crossword puzzles and she has a collection of them in her closet. It reminds me of seeing her use them at her doctor’s visits.

Brown Winged Sunglasses for Fifters!

These small eye-catching sunglasses have sparkles on the wings. They have a cheetah print along the front and back. I notice they are of a plastic material with a shiny quality of all over the sunglasses. They give off the illusion you are the boss and have lots of sass. I know my friend would wear these pair of glasses and have them in every color to show off she is fancy. She used to have three pairs of sunglasses that consisted of a red color, black color, and of a flower print in pink. The wing at both sides give for more dramatic vibes!

Safiya Nygaard Covered the 1950's Accurately

Safiya Nygaard covered the 1950’s style so well and she was so respectful on all of the fashion from back in this time. She accurately looked like a replica of a woman in the 50’s. The hair, makeup, and clothing. I noticed that she looked at many magazines of all of the styles women wore in the 1950’s. There were many women who wore dresses with polka dots, flower prints, solid colored ones such as yellow, and many more! I like that she mentioned that during this time period there was good things about the 50’s but also bad things and situations. It was taught that women never left the kitchen, how they always looked after the children, and catered to their husbands. The information that I learned from this video was that birth control was given the okay to women in this era. I was shocked to find out these details as I had not come across this part in history just yet. All about the youth rebellion as well. Lots of women had more puffed out dresses in this time period compared to the ...

1950's Western Women Hairstyles

I would say that women in the 1950’s had good hairstyles. You mostly see women with short hair than long. Do not get me wrong I have seen women with long hair, but it was rare since the trend at that time was to have short hair that was curly. I am a full supporter with women with dark brown hair with curls. I do like that they did not think of women with short hair as portraying too close to be looking like men or that they were copying their hairstyle. It is not a competition at all. All genders can choose to have their short or long if they wish too. Society did have the image that women with short hair were housewives, medium for young, and long for Hollywood pin ups. Which I do not think that women should abide by these. I am fond of women having short hair so that there is less to do with it. I am personally one who likes to keep her hair short as I do not have patience for long hair. When going to salons in the 1950’s it was a lot easier to style or cut someone’s hair...

Valentine’s Day blouse gift for those who love vintage! The pattern on this top has white small hearts and frills on the arms. I notice there is two big red hearts on the collar and shiny buttons lining up horizontally. I recently purchased this blouse and it is so cute! I would say the material is soft and gives you such a vibrant and fun look to this outfit. I imagine that you would wear this to a Valentine’s Day party or just to the grocery store. I am obsessed with this top.

4 Scandalous Outfits in The 50’s!

This TikTok video shows four scandalous outfit styles women wore in during the 1950’s era. Jasmine Chiswell has put together great examples. It is interesting to know that during this time period women wearing tight short shorts was considered clothing that made people talk bad about. How it brought a bad reputation to some by just wearing these shorts. Today many people wear skintight shorts but that is the norm in society. During the 50’s women were to wear modest clothing and look like a presentable housewife. You were not to wear anything that counteracted this image. This representation could be good for some but bad for others if they did not wish to follow this norm. Coned shaped bras are quite strange I have to admit. They are pointy and do accentuate a women’s chest. I can understand where people were coming from when coned bras were labeled as a scandalous piece of clothing. They bring lots of amount of attention to a women’s chest area and could make some feel unco...

Why We Are Considered Obese Compared To The 50's

In the era of the 1950’s people were thinner and one of the contributing factors was that they either walked, biked, or ran to work. During this time, cars were considered a luxury and not many people could afford them. There was an average of 15% of households that obtained a car but, in this generation, there are about 80% of households that do have vehicles. I do have to say people were more encouraged also to be fit and watch their weight in the 50’s. Do not get me wrong of course genetics plays a role in what weight you obtain in your body, but it is always good to eat healthy and always care for yourself. You can always have snacks and unhealthy food occasionally but lessen these indulges.   In 2020, people are more willing to pick up fast-food more and care less and less about their health. I think this also contributes to the types of jobs we choose as well. There are a lot more work from home jobs and those who work at desks all day. Of course, there are some who h...
