 Thoughts on 50's Hairstyles Hairstyles back in this era were mostly shown of women with short curly hair.  They had big curls that made the volume in their hair rise and looked so shiny as well.  The women put curlers in their hair the night before while it was wet so once they took them out they would have lushish waves on the top of their heads. What is not talked about is that they did have long hair in this era.  Those who did produced the commercials and photoshoots just did not include these types of women/hairstyles as much. This is a stunning Marilyn mask for those who love the 1950’s! The mask has a quote directly from when this famous actress was alive and has her signature red lip. They made this item out of cotton and has a black background. They included her bleach blonde hair and with winged eyeliner. My mother has this exact same mask and she wears it everywhere. It reminds me of when she got her Marilyn soap bottle that she got in her bathroom. She loves all items that consist of this actress.

A pin up girl is a person who is sexually attractive and usually a famous person that wears little clothes. A good example to compare is people who are Instagram models.  The difference is that women were less shamed about how their bodies looked back in the 1950's such as they did not nit pick about how a woman has arm fat or that she is too curvy. It was more they were judged about how they were showing their bodies so freely and wore scandalous clothes that turned their husbands heads.  Which today some people still do that but it is more encouraged now to show your body freely and not judge women on how much skin they show unless it is nudity.  Pin up girls mostly wore high-waisted bottoms to show off their curves and hips.  Jasmine Chiswell's YouTube videos are so well put together and she has such accurate information on 1950's things and mannerism's.  This film starts off with her talking about her dogs which are so cute and adorable. Then she goes on to talk about how she is doing a, "1950s vintage handbag haul." Jasmine has her makeup nicely done as women did theirs back in the 50's as well as her hair.  What was so interesting to know was how she lives in Marylin Monroe's house, which she does not talk about in the video but thought I'd mention it because it is cool to hear about.  She shows us her vintage bag and it looks so unique. It looks like a bag that would not be in the 1950's era but more futuristic like today's handbags.  The bag is so shiny, cute, and small. This is a beautiful bathing suit outfit gift for those who love the 50’s! The top looks like a cute corset and is in a dark green color. I notice that it has spaghetti straps and has the shape of a bra. The bottoms of this bathing suit has a flower print and looks like regular booty shorts. The bikini undergarments have a black colored background and do not show too much skin either. My friend has an outfit similar to this one, but she uses it as an everyday outfit rather than to wear it to go swimming. She has this bathing suit in a leaf pattern.

This is a sexy white lace lingerie piece for fifters! I notice that this type of clothing has a flower print and has an opening in the middle. This part is smooth and is without any substance on it. This piece has two straps on the side that are meant for tights and have metal at the top and bottom. The material is stretchy and is so adorable. My friend has lingerie clothing just like this one and when she wears this, she has a lot of confidence. She always tells me her boyfriend melts when she is in this piece.

This is a beautiful and adorable pinup girl calendar gift for fifters! This woman has on a blue jean one piece that hugs her body along with wearing gray gloves. She has her blonde hair curled with what looks to be brown sunglasses. She has two different colored wires wrapped around her body and has white heels. Beside her she has a Dalmatian dog who is holder and small book. My friend has a poster that is the same style as this one, he likes to collect model photos. This 2021 paperback hang up booklet would look great in his home.

What I love from this video is that Jasmine is so smiley and happy in her video. You can tell she has such a great passion for the 1950’s. Everything about this era seems to brighten her day. I love how she styles her hair like many in the 50’s. She has the waves just like how Marylin Monroe did her hair. It was interesting to view a lot of these magazines that she choose to show her viewers. How the covers are so different from magazines today. The quality of print on these look more like drawings on the inside and I am fond and here for this look.   What they have the same from our magazines today is they have the big title on the front and features a photo of people. Whether it be models, actresses, actors, etc. I noticed that one of the magazines was priced at 20 cents and it seems so cheap compared to ones we buy at the store today. Marilyn Monroe had the ideal look that everyone wanted to have back in the 1950’s. She rose to fame very quickly and was idolized so much by the public. Monroe was an American actress and was labeled as a sex symbol within the 50’s. She was born June 1 st , 1926 and died August 4 th , 1962. I was shocked to find out that she was 5’5 as she seemed so much taller in photos, I would have thought she was 5’7. Marilyn had short blonde hair and a face that shined in the spotlight. One rumor that stuck with me was that she really wanted to get pregnant when she was a live and that sadden me as she died so young. She could have experienced more and made more movies. Monroe could have spent more time with her family and grown into an older blossoming woman. One thing that people loved was that she was kind and you could feel like she was in a sense your friend.
