Red Cotton Valentine’s Day Dress

This is a beautifully passionate 1950’s style dress for fifters!

At the top of this outfit you can see the deep neckline and how it connects to the long zipper in the back. It comes along with short sleeves and tucked in with wrinkles at the breast line.

There is a strip that hugs the waist giving the illusion it is smaller. Closer to the bottom the dress flows out and brings the whole outfit together.

My nana would have loved to wear this dress and danced with my grandpa during these small get togethers in the small town they lived in at the time. She would have twirled and danced her heart out. I am sure she would have worn this dress everywhere she could.

This is a stunning Marilyn mask for those who love the 1950’s! The mask has a quote directly from when this famous actress was alive and has her signature red lip. They made this item out of cotton and has a black background. They included her bleach blonde hair and with winged eyeliner. My mother has this exact same mask and she wears it everywhere. It reminds me of when she got her Marilyn soap bottle that she got in her bathroom. She loves all items that consist of this actress.

She has a blue hat, long V-neck striped pattern shirt, blue skirt, clipped tights, and black and white shoes. The background on this art has two clouds, symmetrical trees lined up and a lake. What I noticed next was the big fish and the log she is sitting on. From this poster she looks as if she is fishing and what is she fishing for? I would say fish, but others would disagree. This woman has bright red lipstick and curly hair as well. I imagine this art in a man cave since it gives off the vibe of sexual appeal. I do not want to categorize so I think some women would love this poster in their home as well.

What Was Valentine's Day Like in the 1950s

Many people in this era loved Valentine's Day not only because was it is a fun holiday but it is a celebration of love! Everything was decked out for this fun day with Valentine creations such as small decorations, valentine cards, hanging hearts in store windows, and more! You saw lots of couples walking the streets holding hands, families spending time together, and store owners with smiles on their faces for obtaining lots of sales. Many children in school made Valentine's cards to give out to their classmates and created big posters of a baby cupids to take home. Celebrity pinup girls were posed for this special holiday with hearts in the background or wearing having hearts on their clothes.
