1950 Original Cinderella Disney Movie

This original Walt Disney movie brief summary, what to like about it, and what to not like about the movie.
 Brief Summary

Cinderella is a Disney movie is all about a young woman who lives with her evil stepmother and step sisters. They basically make her their slave and the mom and sisters get to be lazy and live their best lives.

The family gets too mooch off of Cinderella's fathers money. One night she meets a fairy godmother and she provides her a beautiful ballgown and glass heels.

Cinderella dances with this prince and they fall in love with each other at first sight. She then leaves and the prince is devastated so then he searches her and eventually he does and they live happily ever after.

What To Like About Cinderella

This movie does help the main character to be disciplined and to not be about boys but to focus on housework and her future. Although she did not get along with her family she still was kind and did not say anything bad about them.

Cinderella goes to the ball to have a fun time and did not have the goal to meet the prince. She just wanted a night out where she could have a good time and socialize with others.

She has empathy for small animals and bonds with them. This young woman is kind to older women and does not judge them either. She treats people with respect.

What To Not Like About This Movie

Cinderella is too nice to people and naïve. She does not stand up to her step mother and step sisters. This young woman does not set up boundaries with them

She does not communicate her feelings with others and I think she should have stayed with the prince even when the clock struck past 1:00am. This ways she can know if the prince would still want to be with her even if she was and looked poor.

This young woman wanted the prince to sweep her off her feet and live off of the prince forever. She wanted to be set up for life just like her step mother and her step sisters.

Women were Disowned for Having Children Out of Wedlock

Many women during the 1950’s gave up their children for adoption and it was mostly because of babies being born out of wedlock. Within this time ladies who got pregnant out of wedlock were shamed and disowned by their friends and families. They were considered a disgrace to the family to have a child before marriage. During this era, it was widely judged. Which I can understand why they would be disowned because they could not wait until marriage but on the other hand it happens sometimes. Many women gave up their babies up for adoption had the right to refuse to disclose the identity of the father. Lots of the ladies did choose to tell people who the father was but it was more common that the women refused to tell. Social workers at the time respected these women’s decisions about this situation. I personally have mixed emotions about this topic. I do not think that people should be ashamed for having children out of wedlock but still should be widely influenced to...

What Was Good About 1950's Cars?

I have to say that 1950’s cars look like they are from a whole different universe. What I love about these cars are the white streak around the front of each of the tires. You have many car brands such as the Packard, Mercury, Chevrolet Corvette, Hudson, Ford Thunderbird, Chevrolet Bel Air, Chrysler Imperial, Chrysler New Yorker, Buick Skylar, and more!  I personally have to say the Chevrolet Bel Air is my favorite looks wise. Many people who had cars in this era were more towards those with some wealth. I noticed that a lot of the percentage of people walked, biked, or took the bus to wherever they were going. Not everyone in the 1950’s had a car but those who did had some money. Lots of these cars were geared towards couples who had children as well. The cars back in this time period came in many colors, which I love! Today many people have bland colors on their cars. Which are their preference but cars with unique or cool colors really stand out. When looking through pictures of...

1950's Western Women Hairstyles

I would say that women in the 1950’s had good hairstyles. You mostly see women with short hair than long. Do not get me wrong I have seen women with long hair, but it was rare since the trend at that time was to have short hair that was curly. I am a full supporter with women with dark brown hair with curls. I do like that they did not think of women with short hair as portraying too close to be looking like men or that they were copying their hairstyle. It is not a competition at all. All genders can choose to have their short or long if they wish too. Society did have the image that women with short hair were housewives, medium for young, and long for Hollywood pin ups. Which I do not think that women should abide by these. I am fond of women having short hair so that there is less to do with it. I am personally one who likes to keep her hair short as I do not have patience for long hair. When going to salons in the 1950’s it was a lot easier to style or cut someone’s hair...
