This is a wonderful green, soft vintage dress for people who love the Golden Age!

The outfit is not too short but not too long either, it has two white bows that your hands could fiddle with. It would go great with white shoes and white glasses if you would prefer. An honestly would be a nice style to wear on a picnic date.

This clothing item had a pattern that makes you fuzzy inside and reminds me of something my grandmother would wear. She was all about beauty and having the best outfits to wear that made her feel confident. My grandma was never without nice sleek clothing that stood out and made her the talk of the town. She was always the one to go for a pop of color and had the figure to pull of this dress as well.

Bad Boys in the 1950s

These type of men/teens were the most idolized people in the 1950's along with some celebrities. One celebrity in particular that had the bad boy style and his name was James Dean. This type of outfit melted the girls/women's hearts at the time. Males would wear a leather or denim jackets, white or patter button up top underneath, blue or light jeans, either a quiff hair or leave it natural with some gel in it. I think of the outfits that Johnny Depp would wear in his Crybaby movie with his slicked back hair, leather jacket, and a rebellious but hot vibe. Today we label these type of people as bad boys but back in the 1950's they were called the greasers and apart of the greaser subculture. The Story of Hilliard Brooks Jr's Murder

In 1950 on August 13, a 22-year old man named Hilliard Brooks Jr. was murdered on a bus after he was accused of making a disturbance. Back in these days what was the disturbance, was he talking back because he had to stick up for himself or was it because he was protecting someone else? Some reports were very unjust and plain unfair in my opinion. The reason he was accused of this was because be refused to leave and enter from the rear bus as Jim Crow wanted him to. This bus driver called the police and a white officer shot this black man and wounded two people in the process. All because Jim Crow and the bus driver were trying to be big bosses and choose violence when they woke up that day. Brooks left behind a pregnant wife and several young children. Blue and Red Word Search Book

This is an awesome booklet for those who love the 50’s! It has many pages to keep your brain busy by searching for words with just your eyes. I noticed that is has yellow wording and an arrow indicating to open the book. The front page has labeled the 1950’s on it and the author has made sure to put their name on it. At the top right corner of the red/yellow square you see a star shape. My sister loves to do crossword puzzles and she has a collection of them in her closet. It reminds me of seeing her use them at her doctor’s visits.
