Elvis Aaron Presley was born January 8, 1935 and he died on August 16, 1977.

He was considered as a big star in the era of the 1950's. Presley is labeled officially as an American singer.

This man is also known for being a musician and an actor. He married Priscilla Presley from 1967 through 1973.

It is fascinating to know that Presley has four grandchildren. Before he became this big singer he was actually traveling on the road with his bandmates.

What he is known for is his style of music was labeled as rockabilly. He had the ability to combine country music with the blues.

It is shocking to find out that Elvis never wrote any of his songs according to an article.

What is known is that his label gave him the right to have co-writing credit on many songs because his management demanded song writers give 50% of the credit before Presley would record it.

Elvis's biggest hit during his prime was called, "Don't Be Cruel." Many people loved him during the 1950's because he had so much charisma and he had a baby face.

They loved his voice and how he had this bad boy image. Although one bad thing about him was that he did not eat the healthiest.

He was all about the fast-food and lot of people speculate that this is what caused his heart attack.

Women were Disowned for Having Children Out of Wedlock

Many women during the 1950’s gave up their children for adoption and it was mostly because of babies being born out of wedlock. Within this time ladies who got pregnant out of wedlock were shamed and disowned by their friends and families. They were considered a disgrace to the family to have a child before marriage. During this era, it was widely judged. Which I can understand why they would be disowned because they could not wait until marriage but on the other hand it happens sometimes. Many women gave up their babies up for adoption had the right to refuse to disclose the identity of the father. Lots of the ladies did choose to tell people who the father was but it was more common that the women refused to tell. Coming up on number one is Nylon stockings with the seams up the back and the girdle or garter belt that one needed to wear hose. Movies and television shows were in black and white. No options for color back in the 50's until the later years. White gloves were often required and no trousers were to be seen in public. If you were naked out in the streets you would be disowned.
