Are There Any 1950's Drive In Theaters Left?

What We Know From The Video

From this film we see a young couple going to the last 1950's drive-in movie theater and I do have to say they are respectful when checking in. It is known that they drove an hour to go to the place to see this movie.

This couple had to wait about 30-40 minutes to get checked in and they arrived there about 6:30ish. Based upon the arrival of this movie theater it looks like every other one that we have in the modern age today.

The only difference between this original 1950's drive in movie theater and the modern ones is that it is smaller, older, and darker.

Although I do have to agree with a few people in the comments that as you further get into the video, the man gets an attitude problem about the food. He does not seem to be nice about his words at that moment.

The Comments On This Film

Many comments on this video has praise on how this young woman looks and I have to agree with them. The woman does look so beautiful with her 1950's dress, hair, and makeup.

The young man dresses as if he is in the modern age and there are comments about his attitude. Other comments compliment their relationship and his hair.

I have to agree his hair is nice and curly. Many other comments are about their personal experiences about going to the drive-in such as going there as teens to make out, childhood memories with their dads there, and more.

Others talk about how they wish they had their own drive-in theaters near them and that the vlog this young woman made was good! How Tom and Jerry movie was an amazing one to watch and suggest other people to watch it as well.

What Surprised Me About This Video

I was not expecting a COVID-19 warning that the big screen advertised but seems to be good that they put these on there. How unorganized the employees were but seems very nice to their customers.

The movie theater that is this old did not have many differences and how they had some 1950's era cars at this area as well. The young couple said that the food was not as good as other food places today.

Although there was some bad things discussed I would have visited this original 1950's theater and would have had a blast. What is you opinion, would you have or visit this theater?

The Story of Hilliard Brooks Jr's Murder

In 1950 on August 13, a 22-year old man named Hilliard Brooks Jr. was murdered on a bus after he was accused of making a disturbance.  Back in these days what was the disturbance, was he talking back because he had to stick up for himself or was it because he was protecting someone else?  Some reports were very unjust and plain unfair in my opinion.  The reason he was accused of this was because be refused to leave and enter from the rear bus as Jim Crow wanted him to.  This bus driver called the police and a white officer shot this black man and wounded two people in the process.  All because Jim Crow and the bus driver were trying to be big bosses and choose violence when they woke up that day.  Brooks left behind a pregnant wife and several young children. Even though many eye witnesses reported that the shooting was unnecessary, the officer faced no charges.  After this many people were outraged over how this all went down and set the stage for the...

Why Did Narrators From The 1950s Always Sound The Same?

Commercial radio broadcasting started within the 1920's and moved through the 1950's era.  Soon enough people listened less to the radio and went for televisions as they became cheaper.  This is because TV's back in the early 50's were very expensive that only the rich got to watch any shows or interviews. As you know lots of people tuned into the radio to hear about politics, Broadway shows, news broadcasts, and more to hear about what is going on in the world.  What is shocking to find out is that people who were in radio broadcasts and in motion picture films sounded so similar was because they were taught to speak a certain way.  Many people who taught what is called the transatlantic accent in radio and motion picture studios at the time.  When the radio was introduced to the world, microphones sounded tinnier and had a very different frequency.  Many companies wanted their speakers to adopt and accent so that they were heard clearly by the public and ...

Many people drank lots of alcohol during the 50’s era. Mostly men though as woman would have been criticized if they drank too much. As they had to be sober and fully aware to take care of the children. One glass that is popular is the 1949 vintage whiskey glass. It is a small, but it can contain lots of alcohol. Many people like this whiskey glass because it can obtain lots of ice. Another widely talked about glass is the 1950 vintage wine cup.  This glass is popular because this caters to women who love wine. It can hold a good amount of white wine and red wine. Many people use this glass during parties and other gatherings. The scotch glasses are the most popular out of everyone of these cups mentioned.
