Women's Strict Beauty Routines in The 1950's

What Is So Special About This Film?

What is so special about it is the aesthetic this woman put into this video. She has such a cheery and fun voice that lights up the room.

This woman has the dressing style down for this 1950's style video about beauty routines and how she does not talk bad about it either.

Some people in their videos they have some terrible things to say about the 50's while they are making a video about this time period.

She thinks of doing this routine during the week to give yourself some self-care and be gentle with your skin and body.

The 50's themed music in this film makes it even more calming and has a relaxing vibe to it. She reminds me of my grandma who was born in the 1950's era and brings back some good memories.

I definitely would recommend watching this video as she has some great tips and tricks to put in your modern or 50's beauty routine that you have. It works for both!

What Happens In This 50's Video?

A woman commentator/Youtuber is in the bathroom and she starts with washing her face using 1950's products and she explains how it does not make her skin breakout either.

She washes up and uses some cotton pads along with a towel during this beauty routine. She has her hair up in a scarf/hair holder to make sure her hair does not interfere in her face.

This Youtuber uses a mud mask cream. What I loved about this is that she has a 50's themed bathroom that goes well with this video. I just had to point that out.

She goes onto massage her face and squish her cheeks upward to make her skin tighter as women did in this era. Afterwards she goes onto wear make up and to apply it so that it looks natural.

Then talks about making her powderpuff is clean and ready to use. As you know many of the woman even though they stayed home for many hours of the day they put on makeup and got dressed in day clothes at home.

This is what is surprising as far as I know many people are mostly in their comfy pajamas as soon as they get home or prefer to be comfortable at home at all times.

What Was Good About 1950's Cars?

I have to say that 1950’s cars look like they are from a whole different universe. What I love about these cars are the white streak around the front of each of the tires. You have many car brands such as the Packard, Mercury, Chevrolet Corvette, Hudson, Ford Thunderbird, Chevrolet Bel Air, Chrysler Imperial, Chrysler New Yorker, Buick Skylar, and more!  I personally have to say the Chevrolet Bel Air is my favorite looks wise. Many people who had cars in this era were more towards those with some wealth. I noticed that a lot of the percentage of people walked, biked, or took the bus to wherever they were going. Not everyone in the 1950’s had a car but those who did had some money. Lots of these cars were geared towards couples who had children as well. The cars back in this time period came in many colors, which I love! Today many people have bland colors on their cars. Which are their preference but cars with unique or cool colors really stand out. When looking through pictures of...

Women were Disowned for Having Children Out of Wedlock

Many women during the 1950’s gave up their children for adoption and it was mostly because of babies being born out of wedlock. Within this time ladies who got pregnant out of wedlock were shamed and disowned by their friends and families. They were considered a disgrace to the family to have a child before marriage. During this era, it was widely judged. Which I can understand why they would be disowned because they could not wait until marriage but on the other hand it happens sometimes. Many women gave up their babies up for adoption had the right to refuse to disclose the identity of the father. Lots of the ladies did choose to tell people who the father was but it was more common that the women refused to tell. Social workers at the time respected these women’s decisions about this situation. I personally have mixed emotions about this topic. I do not think that people should be ashamed for having children out of wedlock but still should be widely influenced to...

1950s Hairstyles That Were Popular and Easy

Thoughts on 50's Hairstyles Hairstyles back in this era were mostly shown of women with short curly hair.  They had big curls that made the volume in their hair rise and looked so shiny as well.  The women put curlers in their hair the night before while it was wet so once they took them out they would have lushish waves on the top of their heads. What is not talked about is that they did have long hair in this era.  Those who did produced the commercials and photoshoots just did not include these types of women/hairstyles as much. All of these women had lots of volume and head full of hair as well, I am quite jealous.  Those who had longer hair in the 1950's styled their hair with bigger curlers the night before as well.  I would have to say I love the look of both hairstyles and I found them so intriguing!  Women's Hairstyles in the 1950s Many of the women in this time period went for the short hair with curls as a way to look fancy and presentable....
