Why the 50's were Called the Happy Days?

Many people in the 1950’s era, spent their time reading newspapers, playing board games, listening to the radio broadcasts, and children played outside. They had a lot more socialization back then too, people were always hanging out at each others houses, outside such as fast food places, or even went bowling to catch up with their friends a lot. From my research I have noticed that they had limited fast food options than they do now. They had McDonald’s, or takeaway from the local fish shop. Many families who had spare money went to cinema trips and holidays. Some who did not have any spare money spent their family time at home. I did notice that for housewives housework is much harder back then it is now. Good examples are people did their laundry by hand instead of a washing machine and hung up their clothes on a clothing line instead of dryer drying their wet clothes. Refrigerators were considered a luxury in the 50’s so many people who did not have them had to go out...

Children’s Dress up Outfit for Those Who Love the 1950’s

This is such a cute pink and black costume gift for fifters! The outfit has a pink silk top along with a long polka dot scarf as well. She has a black and silver belt to make her style catch the eyes of those who love 50’s wear. She has a polka dot skirt that extends to the knees and has what looks like a pink snake on the bottom right corner. This detail matches the pink blouse on top and ends with black tights. My aunt loves to dress my little cousins in these costumes not only on Halloween but to play dress up as well. She loved doing their make up for them and just playing outside with them while they ran or jumped around in their cute outfit.

America's Most Loved Show

I Love Lucy is an American sitcom of the century in 1951. It stared Lucille Ball as Lucy Ricardo, Desi Arnaz as Ricky Ricardo, Vivian Vance as Ethel Mertz, and William Frawley as Fred Mertz. This show was watched by millions and across the world and was broadcasted by CBS. One of the main characters Lucy is a funny and wacky wife of Ricky Ricardo. He was known as a Cuban bandleader. They live in New York and Ricky tries to stay afloat for his family in show business to help as best as she can, but she can get into some pickles along the way. Lucy and Ricky’s best friends Ethel and Fred who are also known as their landlords always come visit them and have a good time together. I have seen many episodes where Ethel and Lucy are in messes, they get themselves into and sometimes their husbands have to dig them out of these situations. In this show, later on Ricky and Lucy welcome a baby boy named little Ricky in 1953 and it was broadcasted on Television. In these episodes t...

Sexy 50’s Calendar for 2021

What an interesting green and white booklet gift for fifters! This woman poses with ease as she snaps a photo back at the photographer. She is wearing a green dress with stockings. She has a big camera beside her and lifts her dress with the cord and hold‘s what clicks to snap a picture. This lady has red curled hair and is holding a bird stick in her hand. This photo reminds me of the crude shirts my guy friend has in his house and he wears them proudly out too. I am sure he would love this calendar and would hang it up in his room.

Iconic 50’s Shoes for Those Who Love the Golden Age

These are a wonderfully unique white and black dancing shoes gift for fifters! This pair of shoes have white laces that connect nicely within the footwear. There is a white brand lettering that covers on the right side of the shoe. I notice that there is a brownish or reddish color at the bottom of the shoes that pop out. They have included a white and black print on the footwear that would compliment any outfit nicely. I remember my grandmother having these pair of shoes in her closet, she would never give these away as they were precious to her. It reminded her of the days she went dancing with my grandpa and had a blast. To this day years after my grandma passed away my grandpa still has these shoes in the closet. I am sure he keeps them to remember her.
